MEDIREK can provide you and your venue or event a range of pre-hospital medical services from teams of first responders and paramedics through to fully capable medical rescue teams if there is a more considerable risk.
Our teams can cover any event from small community events, through to large festivals and exhibitions. We can also cover sports events such as football grounds, rugby and even equestrian events, anywhere in Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire or even further.
All staff provided are DBS checked, uniformed and hold relevant, recognised qualifications relating to the medical care they can provide. This ranges from FREC 3 and 4, RTACC through to HCPC registered paramedics and nurses.
Our medical teams can be used in a wide range of applications, including:
- Community and Cultural Events – Our teams can provide visible, proactive support to your event, responding to medical and welfare issues across the footprint of your event. We can even scale our teams to ensure we meet your requirements.
- Venue Cover – We can provide in-venue services such as specifying a medical room and staffing it on a regular or one-off basis. Our highly competent venue medical staff will be able to triage and treat illness and injuries that might arise, as well as being well placed to produce safeguarding referrals to various local authorities such as Adult Safeguarding, or signposting to appropriate care.
- Situations involving strong crowd dynamics – Our teams are well versed in working alongside security teams, and this can be highly useful at events and venues where there is a strong crowd dynamic. Our medics can work hand in hand with your security staff to ensure a quick and timely response to any medical or first aid incident at your event or within your venue.
- Water events and situations with inherent water risk – Should you have any requirement to work on, in or indeed near water, we can provide a mutli-disciplined team to provide medical and rescue capabilities and ensure that water safety is maintained throughout your event.
- Motorsport events – Whether you have an established motorsport rescue team that needs supplementing with additional medics or paramedics for a specific event, or you need an entire motorsport rescue setup, we can help by providing highly skilled, multi-disciplined teams that can provide an effective rescue and medical response.
- High Risk Sports – Many sports come with inherent and sometimes high risk of injury, such as equestrian events like show-jumping, dressage and point to point racing, or rugby, hockey and american football. As such, you need to ensure that you have sufficient and capable medical coverage to ensure the safety of the participants. We can provide a range of medical staff from first responders through to paramedics, nurses and even doctors to ensure that your sporting fixtures occur with minimal incident and that patients receive the very best care.
- Sports Grounds – Sports grounds are complex places in which to operate, often with a variety of medical risks coming from not only the spectator ground, but often from the sports people themselves. MEDIREK can help sports grounds such as football and rugby stadiums/grounds establish regular medical staffing to cover fixtures, or indeed one-off events. Our staffing can work with established sports ground safety officers and management to ensure the proper provision of medical staffing such as first responders, paramedics and even crowd or pitch doctors to ensure compliance with sports association medical guidelines.
- Remote or Specialist locations – We’ve provided medical assistance in a variety of places, from the ‘run of the mill’ such as parks, arenas, stadiums and sports centres through to more specialist locations such as up mountains and in dense, remote forests. During our planning activities, we will review the location meticulously to ensure that we provide sufficient event medical staffing in terms of numbers and skill set so that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner, but that extraction from the remote area can also be achieved with ease if the patient requires more specialist, definitive care.

We plan all of our operations meticulously, whether this be a one off event or a rolling continuous engagement, in order to ensure that we meet our aims of providing high quality but cost effective care at your event. We produce a bespoke medical risk assessment to establish if there are sufficient measures in place to address the potential or likely patient presentations that might occur and if we are providing the right staff and equipment to address this. Furthermore, our event medical plans look to plan for how we will look to reduce your event or venue’s impact on on local infrastructure by looking to divert demand away from the statutory ambulance service and NHS wherever possible, and signposting patients to alternative care pathways to avoid an influx of admissions into A&E. This plan is produced and finalised prior to your event so that it can be shared with local authorities, the event venue and other interested parties in order to avoid unnecessary scrutiny.
During the event, you will be made aware of who is your point of contact and leading the medical provision on site. In some cases, you may have an operational lead and then a clinical lead who is usually the most highly qualified or experienced member of medical staff. This ensures that you have a consistent individual to approach if something changes at your event, but also ensures a high level of medical care with clinical oversight from more experienced clinicians in order to achieve best care.
Following any event, or on a regular basis if the engagement is on a rolling basis, we will update you on the number of patients we have seen and the types of injury/illness that has occurred to ensure that you are able to understand your medical risk for future events and also ensuring our own abilities as care outcomes are regularly reviewed through our robust clinical governance process.
