• Risk Assessments – Our H&S advisors can work with you to produce or review risk assessments relevant to your planned activities. Often referred to as a RAMS, or Risk Assessment and Method Statement, these documents will identify all potential hazards and issues and then provide relevant method of how the risk or issue will be addressed, mitigated and how work will proceed in a safe fashion.
• Contractor Compliance – If you have specialist contractors coming onto your set to undertake potentially risky activities, it is vital that you can ensure they are insured for the activities they are going to undertake and that their own RAMS are compatible with your processes and sufficient for the job at hand. Our advisors can assist to this regard, reviewing their documentation to ensure that they are unlikely to cause any additional issue of risk while undertaking their work.
• Pre-Shoot Advice – Our advisors can review your plans and identify any hazards that might affect how you carry out your activities during the shooting stage. This advice is usually delivered remotely and produces a concise report on what we perceive the best method for achieving what you want within the safest parameters. This is particularly important where specialist activities such as vehicle stunts, water hazards are present or crew/cast are required to work at height.
• Pre-Shoot & Location Recce – We can assign one of our skilled health and safety advisors to attend a location that you intend to use for shooting to ascertain if there are any specific hazards that you might need to be aware of. This can include risk of falls, risk of subsidence, fire hazards and poor footing and traffic/environmental hazards. This also includes looking at access, not only to ascertain that the required crew vehicles and facilities can get to the location, but also to plan for access and rendezvous points in the event that a medical incident occurs and further assistance is required. Shoots with particular medical risk should also consider our TV/Film Unit Medics.
• On-Site Advice & Compliance – Our advisors can then be present on site throughout the duration a shoot and/or build to offer ad-hoc, on demand safety advice as well as ensuring compliance with established policy and procedure throughout the shoot.
